AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
AND TRAFFIC AND STREETS IN THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
ADOPTING THE WASHINGTON MODEL TRAFFIC ORDINANCE BY
REFERENCE, PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES, AND AMENDING AND
REPEALING PRIOR ORDINANCES.
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLED DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section I of Ordinance No. 1634, as amended by
Section i of Ordinance No. 1869, and Section 10.24.010 of the
Port Townsend Municipal Code are each amended to read as
follows:
10.24.010 State Statutes Adopted.,. Pursuant to RCW 35.21.180,
aughorizing adoption of state codes by reference, the City adopts
by this reference, as though fully set forth herein,

S_ection..2.. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1634, together with Section
10.24.020 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, are each here and
hereby repealed.
Section 3. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1634, and Section 10.24.030
of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, are each amended to read as
follows:

of specific ordinances now in existance governing traffic control
or parking, and, in the event of conflict with existing ordinances,
the existing ordinance shall control.

to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of
the ordinance, or the application of the provision to other persons
or circumstances is and shall not be effected thereby.
S~.ctioD. 5.., The Ordinances and laws repealed by this ordinance are
repealed except with respect to rights and duties which ~atured,
penalties which were incurredr and proceedings which will begin
prior to the effective date of this ordinance.
Section ~?.. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval
and publication in the manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, passed by the City
Council for the City of Port Townsend, and approved by the Mayor
of the City o~ June 18, 1985.
