ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

MEMBERS PRESENT: Abbie Greene, Dominica Lord-Wood, Kris Morris, Owen Rowe, Stan Rubin (Chair), Lisa Wentworth

Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action
Approval of Minutes: June 1, 2016 The minutes were unanimously approved.
The Commission reviewed the 2016 Budget. The Commission unanimously agreed to move the
Angel and Patron of the Arts Award Ceremony to February of 2017
The Commission reviewed an application from Centrum for Jazz Port Townsend’s Friday Workshop Blowout. The Commission voted to approve funding of $200 by a vote of 4-0 with Dominica Lord-Wood and Lisa
Wentworth recused.
The Commission was unable to review an application for funding from Sam Jasper due to event having already occurred.
The Commission discussed policy options for balancing funding for repeat events with new initiatives. Stan Rubin will check with City staff for available space at the Cotton Building on October 15th and
19th to host a seminar for potential new applicants.
