AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM
OF $17,615.00 TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE
FUND AND $22,000.00 TO THE HOTEL/MOTEL
TRANSIENT TAX FUND, MAKING FINDINGS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE 1986 BUDGET
FOR THE CITY, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS OF FACT:
A. With respect to the Current Expense fund for the City of Port Townsend
as setforth below, additional funds are needed to pay for liability and false
arrest insurance.
B. With respect to the Hotel/Motel Transient Tax fund as set forth in
section 2 below, additional funds are needed to promote tourism to pay for
advertising.
C. The foregoing emergencies were not reasonably foreseeable at the time
of filing of the city's preliminary budget, and require the expenditure of
money not provided for in the annual budget for 1986.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1) The sum of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTEEN DOLLARS
($17,615.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1986
budget of the City of Port Townsend in the Current Expense Fund to pay the
additional cost for liability insurance (010.02.514.200.46.431) $12,000.00
and false arrest insurance (010.05.521.200.46.433) $5,615.00 to come from
reduction of contingency funds (010.587.000.70.700).
Section 2) The sum of TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($22,000.00) is here
and herby appropriated as a supplement to the 1986 budget of the City of Port
Townsend in the Hotel/Motel Transient Tax Fund to pay for additional adver-
tising which would promote tourism (150.00.573.200.44.460) to come from an
increase in the beginning fund balance (150.272.000.00).
Section 3) There is here and hereby found and declared to be an emer-
gency requiring the aforegoing appropriations to the said 1986 budget of the
City of Port Townsend.
Section 4) This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval,
and publication in the form and manner provided by law.
Read for the first time February 18, 1986. Read for the second and third
times, passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor on March 4, 1986.
