AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE
DEPOSIT OF GARBAGE OR REFUSE
ON THE PROPERTY OF ANOTHER.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular
session assembled, do ordain as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or firm to
place or deposit any refuse or garbage upon property not owned
by said person or firm, whether or not said refuse or garbage is
placed in a container, except that such deposit may be permitted
with the express prior approval of the owner or manage of the
premises upon which the garbage or refuse is placed or deposited.
Section 2. The prohibition on placing or depositing garbage
or refuse contained in "Section 1" hereof shall apply to public or
government lands, streets, alleys, parks and other public areas,
as well as to privately owned lands.
Section 3. This ordinance is made for the protection of the
health, welfare and property of the residents of the City of Port
Townsend, and violation hereof shall constitute a misdemeanor.
Read for the first, second and third time, passed by the
Council and approved by the Mayor on /~t ! , 1986.
