HomeMy WebLinkAbout2038 Uniform Building Code 1985ORDINANCE NO. c~)3~__ AN ORDINANCE ~ENDING SECTIONS OF ORDINANCE 1530, ADOPTING 1985 BUILDING CODES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1. of Ordinance No. 1530 as amended by Ordinance Nos. 1989, 1734, 1975, and 1728, is hereby amended as follows: "Section.,1L...Unifo~r~n~des Adop.t~ T~ere are adopted for the city, in conformance with the State Building Code Act, the following codes: (A) The Uniform Building Code and related Standards, (~)1985 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, except: (i) The new category of occupancY group designated "Group K occupancy" zs established. Group K occupancy shall include all factory-built mobile and modular homes. Group K occupancy shall: (a) Comply with all applicable state structural codes, including but not being limited to the provisions of RCW Chapter 43.22; (b) Be attached to a fixed foundation; and (c) Be permitted only in conformity to the zoning and other ordinances of the city. (ii) A new category of occupancy group designated "group L occupancy" is established. Group L occupancy includes those bulkheads, docks and similar shore-related struc- tures which require a substantial development permit under the Shoreline Management Act of 1971 (RCW Chapter 90.58). (B) The Uniform Mechanical Code, (~98~)1985 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials. (C) The Uniform Fire Code, with appendices thereto, 1985 (~¢88)Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs' Association. (D) The Uniform Plumbing Code, (~¢88) .1..9~8.5. Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials; provided that Chapter 11 of such code is not adopted; and further provided, that notwithstanding the wording of said code, nothing therein shall apply to the installation of any gas piping for water heaters or vents for water heaters.
