AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR WAIVER OF HOUSE
NUMBERING FEES, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS.
818 AND 1644.
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLDD, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 818, and 'Section 2
of Ordinance No. 1644, together with Section 12.16.060 of the
Port Townsend Municipal Code, are each here and hereby amended
to read as follows:
"12.16.060 Filinq of Plats. (a) It shall be the duty of
the City Engineer to prepare and keep in his office plats of
lots and blocks within the districts and to enter thereon in
such manner as to enable all parties interested to readily
ascertain the same, the house number of all buildings or
building lots in accordance with the provisions of this chapter,
and any person or persons desiring to ascertain the number or
numbers for house numbering purposes, shall, upon applying
therefore and paying a fee of three dollars to the City Treasurer,
be informed in writing of the proper number or numbers by the
City Engineer; providing, however, that every application for
a building permit issued by the city after the effective date
hereof shall also include an application for house number, and
shall be accompanied by the application fee of three dollars
herein provided.
(b) The fee set forth in subsection (a) of this section
shall not apply and shall not be collected between June 4, 1986,
and January 1, 1987.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, apProval
and publication in the manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, and passed
by the City Council, and approved by the Mayor on this 3rd day of
June, 1986.
