RESOLUTION NO. 16-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A CONTRACT
WITH BAKER AND TAYLOR AND EBSCO FOR THE PURCHASE OF LIBRARY
MATERIALS AND PROCESSING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Library routinely purchases materials such as books, DVDs,
audiobooks, periodicals and other materials; and
WHEREAS, the Library budgets $70,000 a year for such purchases; and
WHEREAS, State law and City purchasing policies require a bid process for supply
purchases over $7,500 a year; and
WHEREAS,the City conducted a Request for Proposal for Library Materials and
processing services; and
WHEREAS,two firms (Baker and Taylor and EBSCO) scored the highest in their
respective categories of goods and services;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Baker and Taylor not to
exceed $50,000.00 to provide adult,juvenile,young adult books, audiovisual and processing
services and EBSCO in a not to exceed contract of$10,000.00 for databases and periodicals.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 16th day of May, 2016.
