HomeMy WebLinkAbout112415 FINAL MinutesParks, Recreation & Tree Advisory Board Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 24, 2015 City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 4:35 p.m. Board members present were Debbie Jahnke, Ed Robeau, Jim Todd, Rosemary Sikes and Brenda McMillan with Jason Cecil excused. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker and Parks and Facilities Manager Alex Wisniewski were present from City staff. Approval of Agenda and Minutes - The present agenda and minutes of the October 27, 2015, Regular Meeting were approved unanimously. Staff Report – Alex Wisniewski reported that no changes to the volunteer program had been put into effect. He also gave an update on 2015 scheduled and completed maintenance projects and maintenance plans for the work done by the DNR Urban Forestry work crew. Tree City Renewal Application – Debbie Jahnke presented notes on tree-related activity and accomplishments that will be sent with the Tree City application. Alex Wisniewski has reviewed the application and Debbie Jahnke will upload the materials. Citizen Dog Park Group – Debbie Jahnke updated the Board on the citizen group Dog Recreation on the Peninsula (DROP). which has achieved non-profit status and is working toward establishing a site outside of the City for the first dog park, in cooperation with the Port and the County. 2015-16 Work Plan – The board discussed the potential work plan items identified at the previous meeting. Maintaining a running list of issues for the next Parks Plan update was removed from the list as it was considered a routine recordkeeping process that did not require inclusion in the Work Plan Next Meeting – The December 22, 2015 meeting is cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on January 26, 2016. Adjourn - The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
