A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN LOAN AND
GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY FOR WATER STREET
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has received Public Infrastructure Funding
(PIF) from Jefferson County in the amount of $360,000 ($180,000 loan amount and $180,000
grant amount} for the City's Water Street Infrastructure Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the PIF grant requires a fifty percent (50%) match from other funding
sources; and
WHEREAS, the PIF grant offsets city expenditures for improvements to Downtown
Historic Streetscape project; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager must sign the grant agreement with Jefferson County in
order to obligate these funds for the design and construction of the Downtown Historic
Streetscape project; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Historic Streetscape project has been identified on the
recently adopted 6 year Transportation Improvement Plan, 2009-2014 and on the City's
2008 CIP; and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the Streetscape work that is currently underway in
conjunction with construction of the Northwest Maritime Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign loan and grant agreements with
Jefferson County for Water Street Infrastructure Improvements.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 2nd day of September 2008.
