HomeMy WebLinkAbout040215 FINAL Minutes Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board Minutes of the April 2, 2015, Meeting City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Jolly Wahlstrom, Scott Walker, Richard Dandridge, Hendrik Taatgen, Mike Kaill, and Sally Chapin with Mark Henthorn, Lys Burden, and Pat Teal absent. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker and Planning Director Lance Bailey were also present from City Staff. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the March 5, 2015 meeting were unanimously approved. 2016 Comprehensive Plan Update Lance Bailey gave a brief update on the status of the Comprehensive Plan process including the schedule of stakeholder work groups. Map Printing Scott Walker will contact Lys Burden about moving forward with the trail map printing process. Trail Signage Owen Fairbank addressed the Board about the need for clearer signage on the trails with identification of routes to key destinations. Trails Grant update Debbie Jahnke asked the Board to help collect extra volunteer commitment hours to help with the process for the grant application currently under consideration with the Recreation and Conservation Office. Work Parties Jolly Wahlstrom will coordinate the completion of the O’Dell fence on April 4th at 9:00 a.m. The next work party was tentatively scheduled for May 30th at a location to be determined. Port Townsend Leader Trails Article Mike Kaill updated the board on the response to his article for the Port Townsend Leader. Responses in the newspaper brought up conflicting points of view on yielding the trail to horses. Sunday Parkways The idea of hosting a Sunday Parkways event will be postponed until 2016. Next Meeting The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on May 7, 2015. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
