HomeMy WebLinkAbout030515 FINAL Minutes Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board Minutes of the March 5, 2015, Meeting City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Jolly Wahlstrom, Lys Burden, Pat Teal, Scott Walker, Richard Dandridge, Hendrik Taatgen, Sally Chapin, and Mark Henthorn with Mike Kaill absent. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker and Project Manager Tyler Johnson were also present from City Staff. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the February 5, 2015 meeting were unanimously approved. Staff Report Tyler Johnson reported that removal of the right turn lane on Sheridan at 19th had been proposed. He also let the Board know that letters have been sent out to property owners near the Grant Street School trail and that City crews will be installing a culvert on 30th Street. The possibility of a fence encroachment at Garfield and Harrison Streets will have to be investigated. Bicycle Policing Lys Burden will prepare a letter to send to Council on the Board’s suggestions for policing bicyclist behavior. Cleveland Street Trail Tyler Johnson will send out letters to landowners about the future opening of the Cleveland Street trail at Hastings Street. Jolly Wahlstrom will mow the trail location. Work Party The next work party is scheduled for March 21st from 9:00-2:00 at the Spruce Street Trail between Cedar and Center Streets. Board Name Change The Board expressed interest in changing their name to the Active Transportation Advisory Board. Next Meeting The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on April 2, 2015. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
