AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,WASHINGTON, CREATING
A SEPARATE STORMWATER CAPITAL FUND AND AMENDING CHAPTER 3.04 OF
THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, as recommended by the City Manager, the City Council determines it
appropriate to establish a separate Stormwater Capital Fund, in order to allow the City to better
track costs related to stormwater capital projects;
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. New Section. Chapter 3.04, Funds, of the Port Townsend Municipal Code,
is hereby amended by adding a new Section 3.04.340, Stormwater Capital Fund, which shall read
as follows:
3.04.340 Stormwater Capital Fund
There is established a special fund to be known as the Stormwater Capital Fund. The fund
shall be used to defray the expenses connected with, incident to, or pertaining to the
preparation of plans and specifications, acquisition of real and personal property, and the
construction, repair, and maintenance of the stormwater system for the City.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the
provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication
in the manner provided by law.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 16th day of February, 2016.
