Also attending were Jonathan Strattman, Steve Emery, Carl Nomura, Dr. Gary Nelson, Ray (Chic) Stout, Carl Nomura. Meeting started at 3:48 PM. Dr. Gary Nelson presented information about the research he had done into the Tightrope equipment and system. Tightrope is cablecast, carousel, is the foundation of an all digital system. It is all web -based and Steve could manage the equipment from home, if he needed to. All content is stored in a professional database repository for all of content as well as scheduling. Bainbridge Island TV uses Tightrope. Improvements would need to be done in three steps. Step One: Install this new equipment which would enable us to be digital. All content can be managed remotely because it is stored in a very good data base. Step Two: Add live streaming. Step Three: Add video -on -demand. The quality of the Tightrope digitized system is better than Leightronix. There is 500 Gigs of internal storage so we could get on line without buying a storage box. The CG 250 Character Generator is managed over the Ethernet. Tom left at 3:52 pm. Steve suggested that there may be some old computers at the City that we might be able to use instead of buying a new one to place into the system. There is no limit to the number of pages. The management of this equipment requires only a web browser. We need to get the equipment operational, and then make incremental improvements. We need power conditioning equipment that removes spikes and anomalies in the AC line. Meeting ended at 6:15 pm.
