A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE FINAL DRAFT OF THE 2008 JEFFERSON
COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend, by Resolufion 88-64, authorized Jefferson
County to prepaze a plan for the management of solid waste within the City of Port Townsend for
the inclusion as an element of the County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Solid Waste Management Plan was adopted the Boazd
of County Commissioners on 22 July 1991 and by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
on 6 August 1991; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan was
further amended and revised by the City Council on 6 July 1992 and again on 20 November
2000; and
WHEREAS, RCW 70.95.110 requires that the Jefferson County Solid Waste
Management Plan be maintained in a current condition, and changes in the solid waste operations
and facilities, guiding legislation, and planning data make revisions to the previous Plan, dated
October 2000, necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Final Draft 2008 Solid Waste Management Plan has been completed in
cooperation with the Jefferson County, the Jefferson County Solid Waste Advisory Committee,
and the City of Port Townsend; and
WHEREAS, a signed resolution of adoption from each participating jurisdiction is
required for inclusion in the final review package for the Department of Ecology;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, to adopt the Jefferson County Final Draft 2008 Solid Waste Management Plan until it
may be further amended or revised.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regulaz meeting
thereof, held this 19th day of May, 2008.
