A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND CONTRACTS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE DISCOVERY ROAD SIDEWALK, HASTINGS AVE
TO SHERIDAN STREET AND SAN JUAN AVE SIDEWALK, LOPEZ AVE TO
47TH STREET PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has received two grants from the
Washington State Transportation Improvement Board for the Discovery Road Sidewalk
Project, Hastings Avenue to Sheridan Street and the San Juan Ave Sidewalk, Lopez Ave
to 47~' Street projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager must sign all contract agreements for the
construction of the Discovery Road Sidewalk Project and the San Juan Ave Sidewalk
Project; and
WHEREAS, these projects have been identified on the adopted 6 year
Transportation Improvement Plan, 2008-2013 and on the City's 2008 CIP; and
WHEREAS, these projects were designated as priority projects for pedestrian
improvements in the Port Townsend Non-Motorized Transportation Plan linking the
existing sidewalks on Discovery Road and San Juan Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize the City Manager to sign all
necessary documents and contracts for design and construction of capital projects,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manger is hereby authorized to sign all necessary documents
and contracts for the construction of the Discovery Road Sidewalk, Hastings Avenue to
Sheridan Street and the San Juan Avenue Sidewalk, Lopez Avenue to 47`" Street Project,
within available funding.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this 5th day of May, 2008. `4
