HomeMy WebLinkAbout090315 City0f °y Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board "`N�� Minutes of the September 3, 2015 Meeting lownsenCity Hall 1St Floor Conference Room Call to Order -The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Jolly Wahlstrom, Scott Walker, Lys Burden, Pat Teal, Mark Henthorn and Mike Kaill with Sally Chapin, Hendrik Taatgen and Richard Dandridge absent. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker was present from City Staff. Approval of Agenda — Scott Walker handed out a new agenda to replace the agenda posted on the City website. Approval of Minutes -The minutes of the August 6, 2015 meeting were unanimously approved with revisions. Public Comment— Debbie Jahnke withdrew her request for gravel to be used at Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park. Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board Presentation — Joost Besijn gave an overview of the mission and functions of the Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board, including information on education and awareness activities and an upcoming tax assessment. Information Boxes — Mike Kaill and Sally Chapin are continuing their work on researching information boxes. Policing Bicycle Behavior— Scott Walker will invite Interim Police Chief Michael Evans to a future meeting to discuss policing options. Lys Burden will work with Dan Burden to offer free training to the Police Department on policing practices. 2016 Comprehensive Plan — Scott Walker will write a letter opposing the name change of the Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board on the Comprehensive Plan. Landes Street Sidewalk Project— Scott Walker informed the Board of design and procedural errors on the Landes Street Sidewalk Project. Citizen Concerns — Lys Burden will file citizen concern requests on behalf of the board. 2016 Budget—The Board may ask the City to budget for an indeterminate amount of gravel and extra staff time for mapping projects. NMTAB Special Workshop —The Board will schedule a Special Workshop meeting with Dan Burden on a Sunday morning to measure traffic lanes on Water, Kearney and Landes Streets. Spray chalk may be used to show City staff how to stripe the roads next year. Discovery Road Trail — Mark Henthorn will talk to City staff to obtain permission to install a trail along the Discovery Road right of way from Howard Street to Highway 19. Trail Projects —The October 17th trail project will occur at Grant Street if the property corners are marked or at the Choate property easement. Next Meeting -The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on October 1, 2015. Adjourn -The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
