HomeMy WebLinkAbout060415 Po °y Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory rt Board rMlIq b� ova° Minutes of the June 4, 2015, Meeting lownsenCity Hall 1St Floor Conference Room Call to Order -The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Jolly Wahlstrom, Scott Walker, Lys Burden, Pat Teal, Mark Henthorn, Richard Dandridge, Hendrik Taatgen and Mike Kaill with Sally Chapin absent. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker, Public Works Director Ken Clow and Project Manager Tyler Johnson were present from City Staff. Approval of Minutes -The minutes of the May 7, 2015 meeting were unanimously approved with typographical revisions. Requests of Staff—Scott Walker requested that staff look into having the curb at Kah Tai Care Center moved back, fix the pavement ripples at 24th and Discovery, maintain the sidewalk on San Juan Avenue and the Manresa Castle parking strip. Grant Street Trail —Tyler Johnson reported that there was no response to letters that went out regarding the Grant Street trail work. He will distribute a Safe Route map for Grant Street School. Lys Burden noted that Town Pointe needed a safe route to Grant Street School and she will contact the School District and San Juan Baptist Church on the issue. Striping Work— Scott Walker will bring proposals for striping on Landes and Kearney to the next meeting. He also noted that Kearney and Sims needs a new bicycle symbol. 2016 Budget—Scott Walker will talk to Ken Clow about the budget for a new trails map. A draft is ready but the designer needs to be paid. Richard Dandridge will provide a list of signpost locations for information boxes to be budgeted for. Ordinance 3127 —The Board recommended that Council approve Ordinance 3127 prohibiting bicycles on select sidewalks. Scott Walker noted that WAC 308.330.555 existed as read by Debbie Jahnke. Trail Projects — Next project July 11th at Gise and 30th Next Meeting The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on July 2, 2015. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
