A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, PROVIDING FOR POOL FEES
WHEREAS, the pool is owned by Port Townsend School District No. 50 and operated
by the City. Over the past two years the lease costs to the City have more than doubled
increasing the budget deficit related to operating the pool. As a result, City Manager and City
Public Works Director recommend an increase in pool general admission rates of 30%; and
WHEREAS, the City offers special programs, swim lessons, aquarobics, etc., that require
special instructors and schedules that affect the cost of each program. Prices for these programs
are best established by the City Manager based on actual costs for the specific program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, on recommendation of the
City Manager and City Public Works Director, determines it appropriate to provide for pool fees
as set forth in this Resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
1. Effective February 10, 2008, pool fees as set forth in Exhibit A (attached hereto and
incorporated by reference) are hereby established.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to set rates for special swimming programs or other
special events. Such revisions of the above need not be approved by the Council, but the City
Manager shall keep the Council informed of these rates.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this fourth day of Febniary, 2008.
