RESOLUTION NO. 15-038
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND TO SIGN
ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE OFFER OF A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
TO FUND A PROPORTIONATE SHARE OF FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS AT
MOUNTAIN VIEW ON BEHALF OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY FOOD BANK AND
WORKING IMAGE
WHEREAS, The City wishes to make further facility improvements at Mountain View
Commons to enhance energy conservation, public access, tenant operations, and other necessary
alterations; and
WHEREAS, On June 2, 2014, the City Council approved Resolution 14-025 authorizing
the City Manager to submit a CDBG application on behalf of the Jefferson County Food Bank
and Working Image to fund a proportionate share of energy services improvements at the
Mountain View Commons; and
WHEREAS, In August 2015 the Washington State Department of Commerce announced
that the City's grant application had been approved for$414,150 and would be funded; and
WHEREAS, The City will be required to sign a contract with the Department of
Commerce as part of the grant process; and
WHEREAS, The City will use these grant finds to augment the remaining funds from the
voter-approved 2015 Mountain View Bond to complete the needed repairs and upgrades;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to accept and to sign all necessary documents related to
the Department of Commerce offer of a Community Development Block Grant(CDBG)to fund
a proportionate share of facility improvements at Mountain View on behalf of the Jefferson
County Food Bank and Working Image.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 2nd day of November, 2015.
