RESOLUTION NO. 15-034
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HDR ENGINEERING INC. TO
PERFORM A CONDITION ASSESSMENT AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF
EXISTING AERIAL PIPE LINE CROSSING SNOW CREEK
WHEREAS, The City's water utility customers rely on the Olympic Gravity Water
System pipeline to convey water from the watershed to the City; and
WHEREAS, Maintaining this pipeline is crucial to ensuring the City's water supply; and
WHEREAS, A recent inspection of the pipeline's crossing at Snow Creek indicated
significant bank scour; and
WHEREAS, It is prudent for the City to have further and more detailed assessment of
site conditions; and
WHEREAS, The City does not have staff with the expertise to perform such work; and
WHEREAS, HDR Engineering has performed significant engineering work on the City's
water system and has extensive knowledge of the City's system
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with HDR
Engineering, Inc. to perform a condition assessment and a structural analysis of existing aerial
pipe line crossing Snow Creek.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 19th day of October, 2015.
