RESOLUTION NO. 15-032
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH HONEYWELL BUILDING SOLUTIONS TO PROVIDE
MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES AND SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
SUPPORT FOR THE ENTERPRISE BUILDING INTEGRATOR(EBI) SYSTEM AT
THE MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMONS
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows:
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Washington State's Department of
Enterprise Services (DES) to help identify projects that would yield energy savings; and
WHEREAS,DES contracted with Honeywell Building Solutions to provide those services;
and
WHEREAS, several projects were identified, including the installation of a new HVAC
system at Mountain View Commons as well as a software and hardware enhancements and a new
integrated control system; and
WHEREAS,the installed system requires routine maintenance and oversight of specialized
equipment; and
WHEREAS,servicing the equipment and updating controls and software requires expertise
beyond that of City staff, and
WHEREAS,the City would like to enter into a contract with Honeywell Building Solutions
to provide mechanical maintenance services and control system upgrades and expertise; and
WHEREAS, the amount of the contract is above the limit set for the City Manager for
services contracts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to a services agreement not to exceed $97,097.20 for a
three year period for mechanical maintenance services and software and hardware support for the
EBI system at the Mountain View Commons.
