RESOLUTION NO. 15-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON,ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE PORT TOWNSEND
PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION OF AN ART DISPLAY CASE AND NAMING THE
CASE IN RECOGNITION OF CHARLIE MOORE
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Public Library Foundation ("Foundation") has
continuously fulfilled its mission of soliciting donations for the benefit of the Library; and
WHEREAS, Section 3.42.060 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code requires donations in
excess of$5,000 to be accepted by the City Council; and
WHEREAS,the Foundation donated$5,200 to have a custom wooden art display case made
for the Library; and,
WHEREAS, as a condition of the request, the Foundation has asked that the Art Case be
named after former Foundation President Charlie Moore, in recognition of Charlie's long
involvement with the Library and the Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to
accept the donation as conditioned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
Section 1. The City accepts the generous donation from the Foundation as set forth in the
Recitals.
Section 2. The art display case in the Carnegie Library is named the"The Charlie Moore Art
Case." Staff is authorized to place an appropriate plaque, as provided by the Foundation, on the
display case.
Section 3.These naming rights shall expire when the equipment purchased with the donation
has reached the end of its useful life and is surplused by the City. In that event, staff will determine
an appropriate way to memorialize the gift.
Section 5. The City Manager is authorized to take all administrative actions consistent with
this Resolution.

Section 6. All prior actions of staff consistent with this Resolution are ratified and confirmed.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 17th day of August, 2015.
