HomeMy WebLinkAbout120414 Minutes Po °y Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory rt Board rl" b� ova° Minutes of the December 4, 2014, Regular lownsen Meeting City Hall 1St Floor Conference Room Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Jolly Wahlstrom, Lys Burden, Pat Teal, Scott Walker, Richard Dandridge and Mark Henthorn with Sally Chapin, Mike Kaill and Tim Eaton absent. Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker and Project Manager Tyler Johnson were also present from City Staff. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the November 6, 2014 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved. Spruce Street Trail Fence Project Tyler Johnson notified the board that a $1500 expense account had been set up at Arrow Lumber for the fencing project. Within 10 feet of the street the fence was not to exceed 4 feet in height. Staff will check to see whose property the fence should be on and look into barrier options for other private landholders. A work party will be scheduled after confirmation of the fence location. Policing Tyler Johnson will invite Chief of Police Conner Daily to the January meeting to discuss policing options for bicyclist behavior and bike theft. Comprehensive Plan Scott Walker asked the board to begin preparing comments for the 2016 Comprehensive Plan update. Public Works Requests The board requested that the Public Works Department address the Kearney Street sidewalk vegetation and the tree encroachment on the library parking lot. The board also asked for a snow removal plan for bike lanes. Fort Worden Trails Map Tom Niemann presented details of a new trails map for Fort Worden State Park and asked the board to help identify City trails that connect to the park. Board Elections Scott Walker, Jolly Wahlstrom and Lys Burden were re-elected their respective positions as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. Bike-Friendly City Richard Dandridge will begin work on the application for Bike-Friendly City status Next Meeting The next regularly scheduled meeting falls on the January 1 st Holiday and will be rescheduled to January 8th. A special workshop was scheduled for January 22nd to work on a trails project matrix. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
