RESOLUTION NO. 15-011
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AHBL-HERRERA FOR THE 2016
GROWTH MANAGEMENT ACT UPDATE OF THE CRITICAL AREAS ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, The Washington State Growth Management Act(GMA)requires counties and
cities to periodically conduct a thorough review of their Comprehensive Plan and development
regulations to bring them up to date with any relevant changes in the GMA and to respond to changes
in land use and population growth;and
WHEREAS,the City of Port Townsend's Periodic Update deadline is June 2016; and
WHEREAS,the Act requires review and revision of the development regulations
including the critical areas ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends entering into an agreement with the consultant team of
AHBL-Herrera under which the consultants are to coordinate and draft the revisions to the
critical areas ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a contract with AHBL-
Herrera for coordination and preparation of an update to the City's critical areas ordinance, in an
amount not to exceed $42,000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 2°a day of February, 2015
