RESOLUTION NO. 14-065
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE OLYMPIC PENINSULA YMCA,
JEFFERSON BRANCH, FOR PREPARATION OF AN ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
STUDY RELATED TO THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CAMPUS
WHEREAS,the Olympic Peninsula YMCA, Jefferson County Branch("YMCA"), is
currently a subtenant at the Mountain View property("Property"), which the City of Port
Townsend ("City") leases from the Port Townsend School District No. 50; and,
WHEREAS,the YMCA has announced a program in which it may propose
modifications to the current use agreement with the City in order to construct a new facility on
the Property, and for adaptive re-use of some or all of the current structures; and,
WHEREAS,the City is also reviewing its current subtenants, and considering possible
additional future tenants, as part of its ongoing management of and upgrades to,the Property;
and,
WHEREAS,the YMCA is considering hiring a consultant, (Gro Development, LLC) as
part of its program. In order to coordinate efforts, reduce costs, and avoid duplication of effort,
the parties agree that sharing the cost of the YMCA consultant contract is in the parties' and the
public's best interest;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute a contract with the
Olympic Peninsula YMCA, Jefferson County Branch, for preparation of an economic feasibility
study for the Mountain View Campus in an amount not to exceed$15,000.00.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 1St day of December, 2014.
