AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM
OF $79,315.00 TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE
FUND, $15,000.00 TO THE WATER- SEWER
FUND, AND $17,125.00 TO THE KAH
TAI PARK FUND, MAKING FINDINGS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE 1986 BUDGET
FOR THE CITY, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS OF FACT:
A. With respect to the Current Expense Fund for the City of Port Townsend as
setforth below, additional funds are needed to pay for garbage collection,
repair of Police vehicles, securing evidence, and building inspections.
B. With respect to the Kah Tai Park Fund as setforth in section 2 below,
additional funds are needed on a loan basis to be repaid when grant money
is received.
C. With respect to the Water-Sewer Fund as set forth in Section 3 below,
additional funds temporarily held in reserve are available for ~loan.
D. The foregoing emergencies were not reasonably foreseeable at the time of
filing of the city's preliminary budget and require the expenditure of money
not provided for in the annual budget fo[ 1'986.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBELED,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1) The sum of SEVENTY NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FIFTEEN DOLLARS
($79,315.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1986 budget
of the City of Port Townsend in the Current Expense Fund to pay the additional
cost to dispose of garbage (010.00.501.530.41.406) $60,000, Police vehicle
repair (010.05.521.200.48.437) $6,000, securing evidence for the Police
(010.05.521.200.49.452) $9,000.00, and building inspection wages and benefits
(010.07.532.000.11.101) $3,700, Social Security (010.07.532.000.21.201) $265,
and appraisals (010.07.532.000.41.402) $350.00 from additional Garbage Collec-
tion revenue (010.343.607.00) $60,000, miscellaneous revenue (010.369.100.00)
$350, and reduction in contingency funds.
Section 2) The sum of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS
($17,125.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1986
budget of the City of Port Townsend in the Kah Tai Park Fund to repay an inter-
fund loan plus interest to the Water-Sewer Fund (340.13.581.330.70.519)
Section 3)~The sum of FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000~00)~i~ here and hereby~
appropriated as a supplement to the 1986 budget of the City of Port Townsend
in the Water-Sewer Fund to loan funds to the Kah Tai Park Fund (411.15.581.
330.70.518).
Section 4) There is here and hereby found and declared to be an emergency
requiring the aforegoing appropriations to the said 1986 budget of the
City of Port Townsend.
Section 5) This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and'
publicatiOn in the form and manner provided by law.
Read for the first time November 18' 1986. Read for the-second and third
times, passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor on December 2, 1986.
