The focus of the application will be to solicit funding for facilities improvements and operations and maintenance costs for the Jefferson County Food Bank and Working Image. The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons receiving services from the Jefferson County Food Bank or Working Image. Up to $1 million may be available to the City of Port Townsend on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. Persons wishing to testify to the City Council may do so either by submitting oral testimony during the public hearing or by submitting written comments to the City Clerk, 250 Madison Street, Suite 2, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Written comments must be received by the close of the public hearing on June 2. An outline of the proposed Mountain View Commons Facilities Improvements for Jefferson County Food Bank and Working Image project will be available for inspection in the City Clerk's office on the second floor of City Hall. The council chambers are handicap accessible. Arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter, will be made upon receiving 24-hour advance notice.
