AN ORDINANCE REGULATING CHARGES AND ACCOUNTS FOR ~EWERCUSTOMERS-OF THE CITY, AMENDING ORDINANCE NoS~-lS08'AS£AMENDED, AND SECTIONS OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE. THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 Section 3 of Ordinance 1508; Section 1 of Ordinance 1657; Section 1 of Ordinance 1791; Section 1 of Ordinance 1872; Section 3 of Ordinance 1942; Section 2 of Ordinance 1980; and Section 1 of Ordinance 2026; and Section 13.04.030 of the'9ort Townsend Municipal Code are. hereby amended to read as follows: 13.04.030 Rates. As to all classes of sewage service, as defined in Section 13.04.020, the monthly rate of fifteen dollars shall be paid; provided, that any commercial user using in excess of ten thousand gallons of water per month, the majority of which is being introduced into the sanitary sewer system, shall pay an amount equal to one hundred seventy-five percent of the monthly water bill. In the event any property owner or owners shall-require an unusually large use of the sewer system, special rates for such user may be fixed by agreement with the city without the necessity of amending this chapter. The rates provided in this section may be made subject to such discounts, reductions or revisions as may be provided by ordinance and state law for elderly or handicapped citizens. If a business and a residence are occup¥inq the same building, the commercial sewer rate. shall, be charged for the ent%re_ ~remises, ex6e~'t that in those 'a~eas ~f'. '~he Icity d.e'si~nat~d R-I~~ pursuant to the zoning ord'ina~ce_,_ the res"~dential' rate shall-~e charged. Section 2 Section 7 of Ordinance 1508 and Section 13.04.070 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code are each amended to read as follows: 13.04.070 Water shut-off for nonp.ayme.nt. In the event that any such bill for sewage service rates and charges, or connection charges is not paid within sixty days from the date the same becomes delinquent, the city may shut off the water furnished the premises -1- to which such service was rendered or connection made without further notice. The water shall not be turned on again until such bill, together with all penalties and interest due thereon, plus a charge of two dollars for turning on the water has been paid. Section 4 This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, ~pproval and publication in the manner provided by law.
