AN ORDINANCE SUSPENDING THE FEE CHARGED
BY THE CITY FOR BICYCLE LICENSES FOR THE
DAY OF JUNE 6, 1987.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend as provided by
Ordinance No. 1731, as amended by Ordinance No. 1784, together with
Chapter 10.32 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, for a bicycle
licensing system, the license fees for which are presently estab-
lished in the amount of $1.00, and
WHEREAS, for the purposes of encouraging citizens of the
City to obtain bicycle licenses as required by those Ordinances and
to assist in the identification of lost or stolden bicycles, the
City Council desires to encourage the citizens of the community to
obtain said licenses, now therefore,
The City Council for the City of Port Townsend, in
regular session assembled, do ordain as follows:
Section 1
The license fee required for issuance of a bicycle license,
as set forth in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1731, as amended by
Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1784, together with Section 10.32.030
of the Port Townsend Municipal Code, is here and hereby suspended
for the day of June 6, 1987, and the Chief of Police for the City,
or persons authorized by him are authorized and directed to issue,
upon written application, bicycle licenses as provided for in
Chapter 10.32 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code on that date only
without payment of any license fee.
Section 2
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval
and publication in the form and manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, passes by the
City Council for the City of Port Townsend and si. gne.d by th~ Mayor
this 19th day of May, 1987.
