RESOLUTION NO. 14-012
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES CONTRACT WITH PROTHMAN FOR A COMPENSATION AND
BENEFIT STUDY FOR 19 CITY POSITIONS
WHEREAS,the City has never done a comprehensive compensation and benefits study for
non-represented City employees; and
WHEREAS, current compensation and benefits information is necessary for purposes of
recruitment and retention of City employees in accordance with the City's Succession Plan; and
WHEREAS, several in-house recruitments are currently underway; and
WHEREAS, staffing is limited and is unable to perform in-house recruitments as well as a
salary and benefits study; and
WHEREAS,Prothman is currently providing overall succession planning advice to the City
and is well qualified to perform this service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize the City Manager to sign a professional services agreement with Prothman to
perform a compensation and benefit study for 19 City positions in an amount not to exceed$12,500.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 21 st day of April 2014. -�
