Chamber) MEMBER(S) EXCUSED: Jake Beattie, Sue McIntire, Cindy Finnie OTHERS PRESENT: City Manager David Timmons and Deputy City Clerk Joanna Sanders Topic: Motions/Recommendation/ Follow up Action Approval of Minutes: November 14, 2013 Minutes Unanimous approval of the minutes as written. 2014 Marketing Efforts: Ms. Sandoval reviewed that the purpose of the meeting Unanimous approval of motion to is to consider how we are marketing and how best to utilize LTAC funding. After discussion, the following others were suggested to be invited to participate: - Bill Roney, Jefferson County Tourism Coordinating Council (TCC) representation - Bill Tenant, Jefferson County LTAC voting member and from Jefferson County Historical Society. - Diane Schostak, Olympic Peninsula Visitors Bureau and OP Tourism Commission administrator - Main Street (Heather Dudley, Mari Mullen, and Mark Cole) LTAC Minutes Page 1 of 2 December 17, 2013 Topic: Motions/Recommendation/ Follow up Action - Jan Halliday (for Janette Force of Film Festival) - Kevin Elliff, EnjoyPT webmaster The following agreed to forward to Ms. Sandoval their notes on which they have been working in order to share with the rest of LTAC: Mark Cole -- branding information Nathan Barnett -- Innkeepers Guild list of issues Teresa Verraes— ideas for PT Store Ms. Sandoval noted that other issues that might be coming forward to LTAC are transient accommodations and parking concerns. There was some member concern about LTAC getting sidetracked with a discussion of parking issues. Additional retreat discussion ideas were as follows: • Assessing/defining the Port Townsend product and how to market/tell a better LTAC story. • Need for an integrated website for distribution of area activities to those with upcoming reservations. It was suggested that there be an opportunity for members to share what they see as challenges, needs, and wishes as well as to consider who updates and sets criteria for what is listed under "visitor activities" versus "community resources." • LTAC road show to Main Street, Chamber, and Rotary clubs—synthesize story Next Meetings: The next meeting would be a retreat on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. Location: to be determined.
