GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Contractors working on this project are required to have a Labor& Indistries contractor's registration
number and a City business license.Failure to provide proof of this documentation prior to work may
result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies noted by required
inspections.
3. Re-inspection is required after inspection report corrections are completed.
4. Revisions require submittal& approval prior to making changes in the field. Contact the Development
Services Department @ 379-5095 prior to making changes to the approved plans.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEM PLAN REVIEW MEMORANDUM

RE: BLD06-225,Fire Alarm System,Fort Worden State Park,Bldg.353
This code official is in receipt of the set of plans and equipment specifications for the above-referenced
proposal from your office.
The above-reference proposal was reviewed relative to the International Fire Code [I.F.C.], 2003 Edition,
and Washington State Amendments, and the following constitutes this code official's findings and
determinations based upon the plans of record submitted.
Findings,Determinations,and Requirements
1. The proposal was reviewed as a Group R occupancy; and,
2. An automatic fire detection alarm system is a required installation for this occupancy under Section
907 of the International Fire Code; and,
3. The fire alarm system is found to be designed by, and shall be installed by, a licensed alarm
technician conforming to the provisions of National.Fire Code 72 and related sections;and,
4. Manual fire alarm devices shall be mounted at least 42 inches and not more than 48 inches above the
floor[IFC 907.4.2]; and,
5. The basement main floor support beam exceeds the Code depth threshold that requires that a smoke
detector be placed for each"area"created thereby. The added smoke detection device is approved for the
FACP coverage in that area.
6. The annunciation panel and associated controls shall lock-in until the system is reset and shall not be
canceled by the operation of an audible-alarm silencing switch[IFC 907.9.1];and,
7. The system may be monitored by an approved remote agency [IFC 907.15]; and,
8. The fire alarm system shall be acceptance-tested in the presence of an approved code official [IFC
907.17];and,
9. A formal confidence test report [Approved City of Port Townsend form attached] shall be provided
for this system after satisfactory acceptance testing, and filed with the City building permit and the
building owner[IFC 907.18];and,

10. A complete set of "as-bl�ilt" drawings of the completed system shbe provided to the building
owner[IFC 907.19].
Any other applicable or relevant sections of said Code not covered herein shall nonetheless apply to this
proposal.
1.0 hours time was logged in the review of this proposal, and 0.75 hour was logged in the initial system
inspection. Final inspection should log an additional 0.75 hour.
It is the administrative determination of this plan examiner that the proposal be approved subject to the
aforesaid requirements.
Two sets of approved plans and specifications are to be returned to the applicant together with the formal
building permit.
