RE: Refund for part of plan review fee
On Setember 6, 2006, Wallyworks paid$372.48 on behalf of clients for plan review of
BLD06-187. Due to several unanticipated complications regarding the setbacks and
septic, the clients have elected not to go forward with the permit process.
They have requested a refund of the plan review fee. Leonard Yarberry, Development
Services Director, has approved an 80%refund of the fee. Therefore, please refund
$297.99 to Wallyworks Enterprises, Ltd. 1037 Lawrence Street, Port Townsend, WA
98368.
The Trans Code would be: 2010 $297.99

Dear Jan and Ann,
Thank you for your recent communication regarding the Tatham application for
a building permit. We appreciate your holding off on plan review due to
outstanding questions, and your willingness to return the plan review fee.
Because of the setbacks to property line, Elinor Tatham has decided cancel her
plans for an addition to her cabin. Therefore we are withdrawing the permit
application and are requesting a return of the plan review fee, less a small
administrative charge.
Payment to the City was made as follows:

Yes. 80% is a fair refund. We do have some time invested, but we do not want to be punitive.

I have a permit file for a residential addition that I've been holding because at initial review I had
some questions re: setbacks and septic. As it now turns out, they would need to do a secondary
drain field and they can't meet setbacks as proposed so they are withdrawing the application.
Since we haven't done any further plan review than my initial review and associated
correspondence, are we continuing the policy of refunding 80% of the plan review fee?
