Fire Chie DT: 28 August 2006 RE: BLD06-0170: Wooden Boat Festival Tent,NWMC Center This department is in receipt of the above-referenced. The above-reference proposal was reviewed by this office under the International Fire Code [I.F.C.],2003 Edition. The following constitutes this office's findings and determinations based upon the plans of record submitted. Findings&Determinations: ✓1. A permit is required under the IFC,and; The proposal was reviewed as a tent or temporary membrane structure in excess of 200 square feet and is therefore subject to the IFC,and; 0.3. Tents shall not be location within 20 feet of property lines, buildings, other temporary membrane structures, tents and canopies, parked vehicles, or internal combustion engines. Support ropes and guy-wires are considered as part of the temporary membrane structure,tent or canopy; and, a. The subject proposal appears to not strictly meet the setback requirement from the existing building and therefore requires a set-back variance—see item 13. below. /4. The temporary membrane structure is required to be adequately braced and anchored to prevent weather related collapse,as required under said Code;and, 5. The sidewalls, drops and tops of temporary membrane structures,tents,and canopies shall be composed of flame-resistant material or shall be treated with flame retardant in an approved manner, and/or bear an a•'roved label; and, 6. Portable fire extinguishers shall be provided at each exit; and, 494-464W- . Occupant load requirements established by the Building Official shall be posted. 8. The required width of exits, aisles and passageways shall be maintained at all times to a public way; and, 9. Means of exit shall be illuminated with light;and, 0 Exit signs shall be installed at exits when the exits are to be non-open._Said signs shall be luminous type when occupancy exceeds 100 persons; and, _w... t.
