Resolution No. 06-037
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND PROVIDING FOR LAND DEVELOPMENT
PERMIT APPLICATION AND APPEAL FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, on recommendation
of the City Manager and City DSD Director, determines it appropriate to provide for fees
for various applications and permits as set forth in Exhibit A (attached hereto and
incorporated by reference).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend as follows:
Effective January 15,2007, the fees for various applications and permits as set
forth in Exhibit A (attached hereto and incorporated by reference) are hereby
established.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this second day of January 2007.

The fees for building permits shall be based upon the valuation of the project and shall be assessed in accordance

Total valuation shall be determined by the Building Official in accordance with nationally accepted standards.
The listing of per unit valuations presented in Exhibit B shall be used for normal construction projects. For
unusual projects that are not specifIcally listed, national construction estimating tools such as the Building
Construction Cost Data by R.S. Means, the BNi Construction Costbook or the Marshall & Swift Handbook
shall be used as a guide for determination of valuation.
Building Plan Review Fees
Plan review fees shall be 65% of the building permit fee with a ntinimum fee of $50.00

Fire Code and Fire Prevention Review and Insoection Fees
Site Development
A fee shall be assessed for the review and inspection of fIre prevention infrastructure associated with development

Construction Review and Inspection
A fee shall be assessed for the review and inspection of the Fire Code requirements for buildings classifIed as Group
A, B, E, F, H, I, LC, M, R-I, R-2, and S. The fee shall be 15% of the building permit fee established by the Building
Permit Fee Schedule with a minimum fee of$50.00.
Fire Sprinkler Systems
The fee for fIre sprinkler system permits shall be based upon the Building Permit Fee table. The valuation shall be
calculated on the per square foot fIgure. The listing of per unit valuations presented in Exhibit B shall be used for
typical installations. For unusual projects that are not specifIcally listed, national construction estimating tools such
as the Building Construction Cost Data by R.S. Means, the Bui Construction Costbook or the Marshall & Swift
Handbook shall be used as a guide for determination of valuation.
The plan review fee for fIre sprinkler systems shall be 65% of the permit fee, with a minimum fee of$50.00.
