A new meter was installed on August 10, 2012. Goal-Setting Information: Reduce average daily per capita use by 5 percent over a 10 year period starting in 2004. Customer Goal (Demand Side): WUE Goals: Overall water use has been on a general declining trend despite a growing population. Since 2004, the City of Port Townsend has experienced an overall population growth of 8.8%. During this period of population growth, the average daily per capita water use has declined by 26%. While water utility rates have not changed since 2009, the city has continued to meet or exceed the goal of reducing average daily per capita use by 5% over a 10 year period. Customer (Demand Side) Goal Progress: Describe Progress in Reaching Goals: Additional Information Regarding Supply and Demand Side WUE Efforts Include any other information that describes how you and your customers use water efficiently: Port Townsend has continued the system wide leak detection program, surveying approximately 19 miles of distribution system piping during 2012.
