Meeting Minutes
September 5, 1:00—3:40 pm, Downstairs Meeting Rom, City Hall
Present: Stan Rubin, Erin Fristad, Linda Okazaki, Rosalind Russell, Kris Morris, Nancy Rody(minutes)
Excused: Dan Groussman
Minutes Approval: Draft Minutes for the 8/1/12 and 8/23/12 were distributed. RR moved and LO
seconded a motion to approve the 8/1/12 minutes with minor corrections. Motion approved
unanimously. KM moved and RR seconded a motion to approve the 8/23/1minutes with minor
corrections. Motion approved unanimously.
Chair's Report: SR reported that the Community Band expressed their thanks for PTAC Support.
Treasurer's Report: LO distributed copies of the current 2012 Budget Ledger. It was discussed. $3,950
of the 2012 budget is currently unallocated.
New Applications for Funding: Copies of applications from the RainShadow Chorale and the Centrum
Reverberations project were distributed and discussed.
Reverberations: Karen Gose Clemens of Centrum,the contact person for the application,was called
during the discussion for clarification of the budget request. She answered questions posed by PTAC
members. After subsequent discussion, NR moved that PTAC fund the proposal for up to$1,500 for
ADA shuttle expenses, and other equipment and personnel to ensure safety and access, and PTAC will
fund publicity that promotes ADA accessibility and acknowledges PTAC funding support. KM seconded.
After discussion the motion passed unanimously.
RainShadow Chorale: The proposal was discussed. LO moved that PTAC fund the proposal for up to
$800 in the categories of art, posters, programs and rehearsal venue. RR seconded. The motion passed
unanimously.
Public Art: ER reported that the current project was the subject of an article in the Leader. She has
talked with 5 of the 6 finalists, and left a message for one. She has sent letters to artists who were not
selected as finalists. Finalists will meet with committee members on 9/10/12 on the 3rd floor of City
Hall, and will make a visit to the site. The meeting is open to the public. On Oct. 29 there will be
presentations for the PTAC. Public presentations have been scheduled.
Theater: RR has been appointed by SR as liaison to Key City for playwright competitions. There was a
discussion of her responsibilities. SR stated that he would write the letters to playwrights who were not
selected as winners of the competitions.
