RESOLUTION NO. 06-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT TOWNSEND DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF
4TH AND MCPHERSON AS RIGHT OF WAY, AND FIXING THE TIME FOR
HEARING ON POSSIBLE STREET VACATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, THAT:
1. A certain strip of property 15' X 70' comprised of 10' X 70' in Lots 1, 2, and 3, Bl. 317
Eisenbeis, and adjacent 5' X 70' in Lot 1, Bl. 3, National City Addition, in the vicinity of 4th and
McPherson is hereby declared to be held by the City as right of way. This declaration of right of
way is based on the following:
Although the deeds ofthe property to the City in 1929 (AFN 61091 and 61092) do not state the
strip was conveyed for right of way, the dimensions and location (connecting two rights of way)
would indicate that was the purpose, and the strip would have no other purpose as a stand alone
parcel(s) for development. The City has not used the strip for any purpose.
2. Upon street vacation application and application fees being paid, the Port Townsend City
Council shall conduct a public hearing on the request for vacation of the above property at or
about 6:30 PM on Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Fire Station, 701 Harrison Street, Port
Townsend, Washington (or at another location to be determined, or such other date as the Mayor
determines if necessary to accommodate other Council business or requests by staff or applicant,
so long as the hearing is not more than 60 days from receipt of the petition).
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Tllwnsend at a regular business
meeting thereof, held this 17" day of April 2006. '\ t. ~-~
