A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO NCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZI G THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLO K GRANT (CDBG) APPLICATION, FUNDING
THE ACQUISITION OF A TREE-BUILDING OFFICE COMPLEX
FOR LOCAL COM ITY ACTION AGENCIES
WHEREAS, the City of Port To send is applying to the state Office of Community
Development for funding assistance; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that ce in conditions be met as part of the application
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City has provided opportunities for citizen participation comparable to
the State's requirements (those described in Section I04(a)(2)(3) ofthe Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, as amended);); s complied with all public hearing requirements and
provided citizens, especially low-and mode ate-income persons, reasonable advance notice of,
and the opportunity to present their views d . ng the assessment of community development and
housing needs, during the review of availab e funding and eligible activities, and on the proposed
activities; and
WHEREAS, the City has provide technical assistance to citizens and groups
representative of low-and moderate-income persons that request assistance in developing
proposals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE OL VED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
I. The City Manager is hereby uthorized to submit this application to the State
Office of Community Development 0 request $1,000,000.00 in grant funds to acquire an
office complex to house local com unity action agencies, and as the authorized Chief
Administrative Official, is the autho .zed representative to act in all official matters in
connection with this application an the City of Port Townsend's participation in the
Washington State CDBG Program.

2. The City will comply with afPlicable provisions of Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 19 4, as amended, and other applicable state and federal
laws.

proposed changes in the funded project and program performance.

ADOPTED by the City Coun il of the City of Port Townsend at a special
