1. Hospital to remove all fixtures, equipment, etc. from the patient room.
2. GC to shut off VAV box at building auto center; confirm box is shut.
3. Seal off all diffusers and grilles with vinyl sheeting and duct tape.
4. Remove glass window unit from exterior window. Install 10"4) 14 gauge
flanged sleeve thru temporary plywood panel secured to window frame.
Seal all around. Connect HEPA filtered fan unit to sleeve with flux duct. See
mechanical plans for details.
5. Remove second glass unit from window. Install temp plywood cover that can
be removed from the exterior, hinged to allow access to the room from
scaffolding. This is to suffice as the means of construction access to the
room once the hallway door has been sealed.
5. Remove toilet room door.
6. Load materials for toilet room construction, temporary wall and interior
room finish.
7. Remove electrical. See electrical plans for details.
8. Construct temporary wall and seal the hallway door. All access is from
building exterior through the window access.
9. Walls between patient rooms can have communicating opening in portion of
wall between the temporary wall and exterior wall at contractor's option.
10. Seal the access door in the temporary wall.
11. Demo the interior finish of the exterior wall.
12. Demo the window assembly and exterior wall.
13. Inspect framing, clean, disinfect, replace corroded framing. Owner's rep to
sign off before proceeding.
14. Install the exterior wall, including glazing system. Leave glass out of two
units and re- install temporary plywood panels to accommodate access door
and 10" exhaust from HEPA filter unit.
15. Remove the temporary wall and door inside the patient room; maintain the
seals on the hallway door.
16. Demo the bathroom showers and portion of wall behind the toilet. All
material is to be removed via exterior window and scaffolding.
17. Repair, replace finishes as indicated in the documents (to include: shower
room floor, shower walls, toilet wall, exterior wall, walls between patient
rooms). Rehang the toilet room door.
18. Remove all equipment and materials.
19. Wash all surfaces in the patient room, including stripping and waxing the
floors.
20. Remove the plastic and tape from the hallway door, diffusers and grilles.
21. Remove the temporary plywood panels and HEPA filter unit.
22. Install glazing.
