Renovation of Existing Waterman & Katz Building Port Townsend, WA At your request I have provided the attached drawings to perform structural modifications of the Waterman & Katz building to convert from existing commercial occupancies to a mixed use building. This building was formerly extensively renovated in 1997 which included a seismic upgrade. This upgrade brought the building up to the code levels in the Uniform Building Conservation Code. The current International Existing Building Code 2003 has similar values to the UBCC and the usages proposed here actually reduce the weight of the building. Thus little modification to the building is required for this work. We have also reviewed the plans prepared by HR Hatch Architects and have found them to be in accordance with the IEBC03 and the IBC03 Our stamp is noted as reviewed due to our office did not prepare the plans If there are any questions please feel free to call.
