CITY Of" PORT TOWNSEND
Port Townsend planning Commission
April 1, 1977
Honorable Mayor
City Council Members
City of Port Townsend
Gentlemen:
At the regular March 28, 1977, meeting of the City Planning
Commission, the following requests were heard and recommendations
made:
APPLICATION NO. 137 - Augusts Ozols
P. O. Box 116
Taken from table. Rezone request for property located at Tx. 146,
Section 2, Township 30 N, Range lW; cross street "F" Street,
from R-I to R-II, for the purpose of building a four-plex. Since
the Commission found that the property was divided in a manner
conflicting with Ordinance 1671 of the Subdivision Ordinance, the
request will remain on table until the complications are resolved.
APPLICATION NO. 138 - Cecil and Luneta Thelen
57th & Landes
Request to vacate Landes from 57th to 58th Street. The Commis-
sion voted unanimously to recommend to the City Council the
street vacation be approved for the following reasons: traffic
pattern is not such that the City would need the street, nor will
it be; this would not landlock any property.
APPLICATION NO. 139 - Anthony E. Stroeder
1730 Hill Street
Request to rezone property facing Sheridan Avenue between 7th,
8th, 9th, and Grant Street, Eisenbeis Addition, Blocks 221 and
209, Lots 1 thru 8, from R-II to R-III. A public hearing was set
for Thursday, April 28.
APPLICATION NO. 136 - Anthony E. Stroeder
1730 Hill Street
Taken from table. Request to vacate alley at 23rd & 25th, between
Sheridan and Hendricks. The Commission voted unanimously to
recommend to the City Council the alley be vacated, since it
appears present alley serves no general public use.

Variance request for no setback on side property line; twenty-
two foot setback on one side of property line; leave garage as
built, with three inch setback on side property line. The
Commission voted unanimously to recommend to the City Council
the request be approved as not to do so would be undue hardship
on owner who acted in good faith and there is sufficient room
between this house and the next for fire purposes.
