RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN PORT TOWNSEND HERE-
AFTER CALLED THE APPLICANT AND THE STATE OF WASHINGTON,
ACTING BY AND THROUGH THE WASHINGTON STATE PARKS
AND RECREATION COMMISSION HEREAFTER CALLED THE STATE
TO RESTORE THE MUBEUM PORTION OF THE CITY HALL AS AN
HISTORIC SITE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL HISTORIC
PRESERVATION ACT OF 1966 HEREAFTER CALLED THE ACT.
WHEREAS, the Act requires the grantee of grants-in-aid to
assume all costs of maintenance, repair, and administration or property
acquired or developed with assistance under the act; and
WHEREAS, the restoration of the museum portion of the Port
Townsend City Hall will require grant-in-aid funds; and
WHEREAS, the State has agreed to request grant-in-aid funds
for the restoration of the museum portion of said City Hall and act
as grantee for any funds apportioned to this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this governing body that,:

It endorses the restoration of the museum portion of the City Hall
~as an historic site and agrees to assume all costs of maintenance,
repair, and administration of the museum portion of the City Hall
as an historic site and will hold the State harmless in any
instance pertaining to such costs.

This document is hereby made a part of and is incorporated in the
agreement between this public body and the State.
