A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A
TOURIST PROMOTION CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit corporation has requested
the opportunity to contract with the City to promote the tourism within the
area, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to enter
into a contract for tourist promotion, and,
W~EREAS, Hotel-Motel Transient Tax has been appropriated for this purpose,
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND:
S~ction 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are here and hereby authorized
to sign the contract marked Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully setforth
herein.

(Promotion of Tourism)
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of April,
1982, by and between the CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, a municipal corporation,
hereinafter called "City," and THE PORT TOWNSEND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE,
WITNESSETH:
As a part of the tourism and convention program of the City, THE
PORT TOWNSEND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE agrees to provide the City between
100,000 and 150,000 brochures describing the City with its name prominent-
ly thereon, and to distribute said brochures throughout the State of
Washington and beyond.
As a further part of the tourism and convention program of the City,
The Tourist Affairs Committee of the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE will promote and
advertise the City in a multi-media campaign, including both print (news-
paper and magazine) and television.
The City will make progress payments to THE PORT TOWNSEND CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE up to a cumulative total of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00)
based upon adequate proof of performance submitted by THE PORT TOWNSEND
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE in consideration for said performance.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties, by their authorized agents have
hereunto set their hands this day of April, 1982.
