A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
A PERSONAL SERVICE CONTRACT WITH JOHN
FLOYD

The Mayor is here and hereby authorized and directed to execute
on behalf of the City of Port Townsend for plannir~g services from
John Floyd in the amount of $720.00 per month for five months from
February through June of 1984 a contract in the form annexed hereto.

OONTRACT PLANNER AGREEMEN~
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of
· by and between the CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, a
municipal corporation, hereinafter'called" City," and JOHN M.
FLOYD· hereinafter called "Planner, "WITHESSETH:
For and in consideration of the payment by the City to the
Planner of the sum of Seven Hundred Twenty
Dollars per month, commencing with the month of February
1984, the Planner contracts and agrees to provide services as a
land planner and administrator of the planning and zoning
functions of the City from February 1, 1984 through June 30, 1984.
The services of the Planner.shall be to process and execute
the City's administrative requirements for zoning, rezoning,
platting, replatting, variances, condi%ional use permits, plat
and street vacations, shoreline permits and all other land use
and planning permits and applications, to analyze the problems
thereto relating, ~_~ake reports to the Planning Commission,
City Council, and such officers and departments of the City as may
be involved in the functions for which he is employed, and to
render advice as may be appropriate for the purposes of his
employment, as may be directed by the Mayor and City Council.
The Planner shall further render advice and make recommend-
ations to the Planning Commission and City Council with regard to
the Comprohensive Plan and amendments thereto.
It is understood and agreed that all administrative and
clerical support for the Planner shall be provided by the City
at the City's expense, and that office space and equipment shall
be provided by the City to the Planner.
It is further understood and agreed that the Planner shall
have no employee benefits accorded City employees, and shall
provide for his own liability with regard to social security,
Employment Security, medical expense (whether industrial or
otherwise), and shall in all respects be an independent
contractor for the services hereinabove set forth
