SPECIAL INSPECTION required for epoxy sets, structural
steel and high-strength bolts per International Building Code
Section ]704 -The owner shall employ one or more special
inspectors to provide inspections during construction on the
type of work listed here. The special inspector shall be a
ICC certified inspector }fisted in the current edition of the
WABO "Agency and Inspector Register" or present
credentials that demonstrate competence, to the satisfaction
of the building official, for inspection of the particular type
of construction requiring special inspection. Special
Inspection Reports shall be copied to the Building
Department in a timely manner. Permit Holder or Permit

INSULATION
WSEC Section 1134 Historic Buildings allows for alternate
requirements that result in a reasonable degree of energy
efficiency and do not decrease the degree of existing eff ciency.
Existing roof/ceiling, wall and floor cavities exposed during
construction shall be insulated to full depth with minimum R-
3/inch insulation. Existing walls and floors without framing
cavities may remain; new framing added to existing walls and
floors shall be frlled with minimum R-3/inch insulation

GENERAL CONDITIONS
I. Contractors working on this project are required to have a Labor & Industries contractor's
re¢istration number and a City business license. Failure to provide proof of this documentation prior to
work may result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures shall be installed on-site and inspected
prior to beginning construction; call 385-2294. Measures shall include installation of silt fencing and
graveled construction entrance (see attached details). Soils exposed during construction shall be
temporarily stabilized with mulching, plasfic sheeting, etc. Soils shall be permanently stabilized with
seeding, plantings, sodding, etc. once construction is complete. Applicant is responsible for protection of
adjacent properties.
3. All elements of engineering including nailing, holdowns, sheathing, and alternate braced wall panels
(ABWP) require inspection prior to cover.
4. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deSciencies noted by
required inspections.
5. Re-inspection is required after any corrections are completed.
6. The Building Department is unable to pass final inspection on your project until Public Works
requirements have been completed and inspected. For Public Works inspection calf 385-2294; a
minimum of twenty-four hours notice is required. Public Works approval must be received prior to
scheduling the Building Department's renal inspection.
7. Final Inspections and Certifcate of Occupancy are required PRIOR to occupancy.
8. All building permits expire if no progress has been made within six months, or if no inspections are
done by the Building Department within one year. Call for at least one inspection per year to keep your
building permit active.
9. Revisions require review and approval prior to making changes in the field. Contact the Building
Department 344-3057 prior to making changes to the approved plans.
