A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A CONDITIONAL GIFT FROM
ANN GIBBS
WHEREAS, Ann Gibbs would like the City of Port Townsend to
establish a living memorial to her late husband in Chetzemoka
Park, and,
WHEREAS, she is willing to donate $1,000.00 for the initial
planting and future maintenance of this flower bed, and,
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Parks Department has reviewed
the conditions placed on her gift and recommends acceptance,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that:
The City Clerk-Treasurer be authorized and directed to
receipt the conditional gift of $1,000.00 from Ann Gibbs and
the~Pa~ks~DePa~t~en~be-~ntho~ize'touse $300.00 from the donation
to purchase plants to create a flower bed in the far back corner
of Chetzemoka Park. The remaining $700.00 is to be invested by
the city in an interest bearing account, the proceeds of which
will be paid into the Park Fund to provide ongoing maintenance
of the memorial planting. A memorial plaque provided by Mrs.
Gibbs will be installed by the Parks Department designating the
site appropriately.

RE: Memorial Gift from Ann Gibbs
Ann Gibbs has presented a gift of $1000.00 to the City of
Port Townsend to be used for a memorial planting in
ChetzemoKa Park for her late husband. The following
conditions regarding the gift have been worked out between
Ms. Gibbs and the Park Department:
1. The round flower bed in the far back corner of the
park will be designated as the Gibbs memorial bed.
2. Three hundred dollars(S300.00) from the donation
will be used to purchase plant materials to create a bed of
fragrant perennials.
3. The remaining $700 is to be invested by the City in
an interest bearing account, the proceeds of which will be
paid into the park fund to provide for ongoing maintenance of
the memorial planting.
4. Ms. Gibbs will take care of having a memorial plaque
made which the park department will install.
