CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DESIGNATING A HAZARDOUS
MATERIALS INCIDENT COMMAND AGENCY WITHIN THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY PURSUANT TO RCW 70.136.030 AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, Section 4, Chapter 172, laws of 1982, Revised Code
of Washington 70.136.030 as amended requires that the governing
body of the City of Port Townsend designate a hazardous materials
incident command agency within the boundaries of the City of
Port Townsend; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend has
considered the training, manpower, expertise, and equipment of
available agencies and the applicable codes and regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend finds
that there is no agency but the City of Port Townsend Fire
Department available to meet the requirements of a hazardous
materials incident command agency within the City of Port
Townsend pursuant to RCW 70.136.030;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Port Townsend that the City of Port Townsend Fire Depart-
ment is hereby designated as hazardous materials incident command
agency to operate within the boundaries of the City of Port
Townsend.
PASSED by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend and
approved by the Mayor on this 5th day of January, 1988.
