PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION
Provide protection per UBC as needed during construction. See
attached handout including Table 33-A for type of protection
needed based on construction height and pedestrian distance
from construction. Contact the City of Port Townsend regazding
dates and times so the City Police, Fire and Public Works
Depaztments are aware of when the south end of Taylor Street at
the intersection with Water Street will be barricaded.
SEDIMENT CONTROL
Rights of way shall be kept free of dirt and debris and swept as
needed during construction.
DEMOLITION
All construction debris to be deposited in Jefferson County
Landfill or other location in accordance with all local, state and
federal laws.

INSULATION - as needed
If: the roof sheeting is being replaced, the roof membrane is
removed, exterior insulation is removed, or no insulation exists,
the roof over a heated space must be insulated to the following
values:
Eleclric Heat: R-38 for roofs over attic, R-30 for other roofs
Other Fuels: R-30 for roofs over attic, R-21 for other roofs
SHEATHING/NAILING (if applicable)
7/16" OSB requires 8d @ 6" o.c. edges & 12" field or 1 '/<"
staples @ 6" o.c. edges and field.
ROOF VENTING
1 sq. ft. for 150 sq. ft., or 1 sq. ft. for 300 sq. ft. if 50% of vents
aze located at least 3 ft. above eave or cornice or a permanent
vapor barrier is installed on warm side of attic insulation.
ROOF DRAINAGE
Roof drains shall be sized and discharged in accordance with the
Uniform PIumbing Code. See attached pages from Appendix M
of the WA State Amendments of the UPC.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Contractors working on this project are required to have a Labor & Industries contractor's
reeistration number and a City business license. Failure to provide proof of this documentation
prior to work may result in job shut down while this is accomplished.
2. Temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures shall be installed on-site and inspected
prior to beginning construction; call 385-2294. Adjacent rights-of--way shall be kept free of dirt
debris. Soils exposed during construction shall be temporarily stabilized with mulching, plastic
sheeting, etc. Soils shall be permanently stabilized with seeding, plantings, sodding, etc. once
construction is complete. Applicant is responsible for protection of adjacent properties.
3. All elements of engineering including nailing, holdowns, sheathing, and alternate braced wall
panels (ABWP) require inspection prior to cover.
4. Owner or owner's agent shall review and oversee correction of any and all deficiencies noted by
required inspections.

5. Re-inspection is required after inspection report corrections are completed.
6. If your project included he Building Department is unable to pass final inspection on your project
until Public Works requirements have been completed and inspected. For Public Works inspection
ca11385-2294.
Final Inspections are required prior to occupancy; A Certificate of Occupancy is required for a
non-residential project.
S. All building permits expire if no progress has been made within six months, or if no inspections are
done by the Building Department within one year. Call for at least one inspection per year to keep
your building permit active.
9. Revisions require submittal & approval prior to making changes in the field. Contact the Building
Department @ 379-3208 prior to making changes to the approved plans.
10. POST THIS PERMIT ON-SITE WITH THE APPROVED PLANS.
