A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT TO~SEND, ~iAKING FINDINGS AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR SOLID WASTE HANDLING
AND DISPOSAL WITH SUPERIOR REFUSE REMOVAL, INC.
~EREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend pursuant
to RCW 35.21.156 and in accordance with the terms thereof received
various submissions of qualifications from applicants to contract
with the City for solid waste handling and disposal; and
WHEREAS, the City has negotiated a proposed Contract with
Superior Refuse Removal, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto
as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference as if set
forth in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered the Contract and the terms
and provisions thereof at.its regularly scheduled meeting on Novem-
ber 20, 1990; and
~EREAS, the Mayor opened the meeting to a public hearing on
the proposed Contract, and received no public comments; and
~,~EREAS, the appropriate committee of the City Council along
with staff of the City has considered the terms and provisions of
the proposed Contract for a number of weeks, and recommends that the
City enter into said Contract with Superior Refuse Removal, Inc.;
WHEREAS, the City Council' for the City of Port Townsend finds
that it is in public interest to enter into the Contract; that the
Contract is financially sound; and that it is advantageous for the
City to use the method for awarding this Contract set forth in RCM
35.21.156 as compared to other methods; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Port Town-
send that the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of
Port Townsend the annexed Contract for Solid Waste Handling and Dis-
posal between Superior Refuse Removal, Inc., and the City of Port
Townsend.
Passed by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend this
20th day of November, 1990, and signed by the Mayor November 27,
1990.
